The Vice Chancellor who led other members of the University Management on a ‘thank you’ visit said the University was eternally grateful for the road initiated and being completed by the Governor, which has eased the problems of transportation to the University and its attendant loss in man-hour by staff, students and visitors due to the deplorable state of the Nkwagu- Ikwo road prior to his intervention.

He said: ‘’ Your Excellency you promised to reconstruct our University road and you kept your words. So we have come to say thank you for this good gesture.  We have nothing much to offer you. Since we don’t have a post graduate school yet, we cannot give you an honorary degree. But all we have to say is thank you”.

“You made a commitment and you have kept to it. We shall not be shy to let the entire world know that we are very grateful. And so we say thank you.”

‘’Your Excellency, you did not just do the road to FUNAI; you constructed it with cement, technology which is rare in our country. Such road is rarely done by politicians but by a statesman like you.”

The Vice Chancellor further reminded the Governor of his earlier promise of helping the University construct 1 kilometre of internal road that would link the University Main Gate to the campus.
